Wingfield is a village in the English county of Suffolk. It is found 7 miles (11 km) east of Diss, signposted off B1118, near Eye. The origin of the name Wingfield is unknown. It’s likely it originated from Anglo-Saxon as the Old English word winga, meant a turn, corner or bend in the land and feld meant field.
